Four Reds set for Young Lionesses duty

Four young Manchester United Women players have received England call-ups across two age categories.

Jess Simpson, fresh from making her first start for our senior side and scoring an 'Olimpico' goal in our 10-1 win over Sheffield United in the Subway Players Cup, will be reporting for duty with the Lionesses' Under-23 setup.

The team, led by Lydia Bedford, are looking to defend their U23 European competition crown, clinched with a win over Sweden in April.

Their first match of the new season sees them head to the LNER Community Stadium in York to face Norway in a 19:30 BST kick-off on 12 October.

Elsewhere, Reds trio Evie Mitchell, Lucy Robinson and Jessica Anderson are linking up with England's Under-19 squad for international break.

John Salomon's side have three upcoming group-stage games as they seek to qualify for the UEFA Women's U19 Euro finals in Hungary in June.

Over the course of a week, they'll come up against Denmark, Switzerland and Bosnia & Herzegovina – where all three games will be played – seeking a place in the top three, which will grant progression to the second round of qualifying in April.

Congratulations to all four, and best wishes for the international break!
