Two Reds receive Lionesses call-ups

Manchester United Women duo Maya Le Tissier and Jess Park have been included in Sarina Wiegman's latest England squad.

The Lionesses have two big games coming up over the October international break, with a two-legged play-off against Greece in the FIFA World Cup 2027 qualifiers.

England start with a trip to the Pankritio Stadium in Crete for the first leg on 9 October, before the reverse fixture back at the King Power Stadium in Leicester on 13 October.

Victory over the two games would see Wiegman's side head to the next round of the play-offs, with a spot in next summer's competition in Brazil on the line.

United captain Le Tissier will be looking to add to her 14 England caps to date, having been part of the UEFA Women's Euro 2025-winning squad.

Park was also part of that side, shortly before making her move to the Reds in the same summer, and currently has 26 caps to her name, with five goals – the most recent of which being her brace in a 6-1 win over Ukraine in the UEFA Nations League back in March.

The Reds face Durham Women in the Subway Players Cup tomorrow night (30 September), before looking ahead to our next Barclays Women's Super League assignment, against Liverpool, on Saturday 3 October.

After that, those of our squad who have been selected for international duty will link up with their respective nations.

Congratulations on the call-ups, Maya and Jess!
