Lily Murphy

Pacey Forward

Exciting teenage attacker Murphy first arrived at the City Football Academy in 2022, and has since patiently worked her way into the senior squad.

Capable of playing anywhere across the front line, the forward is known for her blistering pace... so much so, she’s already represented her country at youth level in football and as a sprinter.

Having spent time on a dual registration at Stoke City and receiving her England U19 call up in February 2024, Murphy was exposed to senior football for the first time in 2024/25.

She'd already featured for the senior side in some behind-closed-doors friendlies and during our pre-season tour of Australia, but a senior debut would follow in our 5-0 Champions League qualifying win over Paris FC.

In December 2024, Lily signed her first professional contract with Manchester City, and her first goal would follow in a 2-0 UEFA Champions League win over St Polten before the new year.

Murphy went on to make 22 appearances in all competitions across the campaign, predominantly from out wide, and also scored in a League Cup win over Manchester United in January 2025.

She was then a member of the triumphant class of 2026 who lifted the Club's second Barclays Women's Super League title and fourth FA Cup.

Lily will spend the 2026/27 campaign on loan at fellow WSL side Aston Villa.
