Elliot Anderson

Versatile and technical midfielder...

Elliot Anderson joined City from Nottingham Forest in the summer of 2026, having quickly established himself as one of England’s most exciting, technical midfielders.

The England international began his trade at Wallsend Boys Club, a team who has seen over 50 players go on to make their professional debut, before he joined Newcastle United’s Academy at Under-8s.

At 17 years old, Anderson signed his first professional contract with the Magpies before extending his stay a year later.

In January 2021, the midfielder made his first-team debut for Newcastle in a 2-0 FA Cup defeat to Arsenal, less than two weeks before his first Premier League outing, also against the Gunners.

To continue his development, Anderson joined Bristol Rovers on loan in January 2022 and went on to make 21 appearances in League Two in which he scored seven goals and assisted six and as a result he helped Rovers secure automatic promotion to League One.

Across 2022/23 and 2023/24, Anderson became a more established player amongst the Newcastle United ranks.

And in his final two years as a Magpie, he totalled 55 appearances before his transfer to Nottingham Forest in July 2024.

The England international was industrial and instrumental for Forest in his two years in the East Midlands.

He played 92 games for Forest, with 2025/26 his best term to date as he tallied some of the most impressive figures for Premier League midfielders.

Anderson carried his form onto the international stage as he represented England at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, his first major tournament for his country.

He was a key figure as the Three Lions recorded their best World Cup finish since 1966, winning the bronze medal match against France.

Now, Anderson will be looking to showcase his strength, desire, determination and technical ability at the Etihad from 2026/27.
