Versatile, tricky defender
Charlie's City journey began at Under-9s level.
He grew up playing as a midfielder who has always enjoyed the ball at his feet as he developed his game through every age group.
But since joining the Under-18s, has featured predominantly at full-back, showcasing the youngsters versatility.
Courtman also has a keen eye and great ability to play the ball forward, splitting defensive lines consistently.
After an impressive first season with the Under-18s in 2024/25, in which he helped City lift the North title, Courtman continued to hone his skills with the Oliver Reiss' squad in 2025/26.
Once he made his return from injury for the latter stages of the campaign, the versatile defender went on to make 19 appearances across all competitions as he helped City lift the Under-18 Premier League North and FA Youth Cup trophies.
