Vivianne Miedema

Clinical forward

Dutch international Vivianne Miedema became City’s first summer signing ahead of the 2024/25 season when she joined the Club from Arsenal.

The forward arrived at the Joie Stadium with a fearsome goalscoring reputation, boosted by seven incredible seasons at the Gunners.

The Barclays Women’s Super League’s record markswoman, Miedema has also twice won the WSL Golden Boot, been included in the PFA Team of the Year on three separate occasions while also being named PFA Players’ Player of the Year in 2018/19.

It was during that season where she helped Arsenal win the WSL title, setting a record for goals across a single season with 22 in as many matches.

But Miedema’s game isn’t just about goals – she was also the first player in WSL history to reach 100 goal involvements, something she achieved with 70 strikes and 30 assists.

During her first season at City, Viv finished with 11 goals and 4 assists in 19 appearances, and also won the WSL Goal of the Season award for a stunning strike against Aston Villa.

One of the most clinical finishers in the game, Miedema’s accolades extend to an international setting, with the forward helping the Netherlands to Euro 2017 glory, winning the Silver Boot in the process with four strikes.

She is also the highest-scoring Dutch player of all time, reaching 100 goals during a win over Wales at Euro 2025.

Miedema was then a member of the triumphant class of 2026 who lifted the Club's second Barclays Women's Super League title and fourth FA Cup crown.

She scored the fourth and final goal of that latter victory at Wembley, as City beat Brighton 4-0.
