Ghana Premier League

Atmosphere expected to drive Kotoko performance

· TotalSports1Plus

Eric Tinkler believes the hostile environment at Nsenkyire Sports Arena should act as a positive motivator for his Asante Kotoko squad during their clash with FC Samartex 1996.

Asante Kotoko travel to meet an in-form FC Samartex 1996 side that has won their opening two league matches and maintains an unbeaten streak of four games at home. While large, partisan crowds often present an intimidating factor for visiting teams, Kotoko coach Eric Tinkler insists his players should view the atmosphere as a source of extra motivation. He maintains that professional players should relish competing in front of full stadiums regardless of the support for the opposition.

The Porcupine Warriors are currently unbeaten in their last three matches across all competitions. However, they face a difficult test against the hosts, as Kotoko have historically struggled on the road, managing only one victory in their last 10 away league fixtures.
