Tinkler Clarifies Departure from Asante Kotoko

Asante Kotoko and Eric Tinkler have mutually agreed to terminate the coach's contract, the club announced on Monday. Tinkler, 54, stated that he had submitted his resignation before the team's 2-0 loss to Aduana FC on Sunday, emphasizing that the match result had no bearing on his choice.

The South African coach noted that he had decided to leave the previous week due to an attractive offer from a club back in his home country. Tinkler, who previously led the Porcupine Warriors to victory in the Democracy Cup against rivals Hearts of Oak, is expected to join the South African side Durban City.
