Lack of Focus Cost Heart of Lions in Defeat to Kotoko, Says Gokyildiz

Heart of Lions coach Kasim Gokyildiz attributed his team's 2-1 loss to Asante Kotoko at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium to a lapse in concentration. Despite creating several scoring opportunities, the Lions were unable to convert, while Kotoko utilized their experience to secure the victory.

Gokyildiz noted that while his team dominated segments of the play, the lack of focus in the build-up to the conceded goals proved costly. The match ended with a late penalty goal from Francis Odoom for the Lions, but it was not enough to spark a full comeback. The result extends Heart of Lions' winless run to two matches in the 2026/27 season.
