Heart of Lions Stage Late Comeback to Secure Victory Over Young Apostles

Heart of Lions earned their first win of the 2026/27 campaign on Sunday, overcoming an early deficit to defeat Young Apostles 2-1 in Wenchi. Samuel Prempeh gave the hosts an early lead just four minutes into the Matchday 4 encounter.

The visitors equalized through a 55th-minute Francis Odoom penalty. Despite losing Abdul Jalilu to a red card in the 65th minute, Lions secured the result in the 95th minute thanks to Mustapha Yakubu’s late goal. The defeat leaves Young Apostles struggling to capitalize on their early season home advantage.
