Eric Tinkler Linked to Durban City Vacancy

Asante Kotoko officially confirmed the exit of coach Eric Tinkler on Monday, September 28, 2026, citing personal reasons for his contract termination. Tinkler's departure occurred less than a day after the team's 2-0 loss to Aduana FC. The coach is expected to be appointed as the new head coach of the South African side Durban City, which recently parted ways with Khalil Ben Youssef.

Tinkler had been under consideration for the Durban City position previously in June before the club chose Ben Youssef. If the appointment proceeds, Tinkler will transition directly from his brief role in the Ghana Premier League back to the South African top flight.
