Eric Tinkler Exits Asante Kotoko After Brief Tenure

The Board of Directors of Asante Kotoko has confirmed the departure of head coach Eric Tinkler, who was appointed in July 2026. According to the club, the 54-year-old requested to be released for personal reasons after managing just four league games. The team recorded one win, two draws, and one loss under his leadership, culminating in a 2-0 defeat by Aduana FC.

Despite the short league stint, Tinkler successfully guided the team to a Democracy Cup victory over Hearts of Oak. Director of football Stanley Purl Menzo will lead the technical team for the club's upcoming match against Karela United on Thursday, October 1.
