Sports Minister Urges Clubs to Enhance Fan Engagement

· TotalSports1Plus

Sports and Recreation Minister Kofi Adams has challenged Ghanaian football clubs to earn the attention of supporters through improved engagement strategies.

Sports and Recreation Minister Kofi Adams has called on football clubs to stop taking supporters for granted, noting that the domestic game must actively compete for attention against global entertainment. Adams spoke at the GFA's 32nd Ordinary Congress, arguing that clubs need better strategies than last-minute social media posts to fill stadiums.

Adams raised concerns about whether clubs truly understand their fan base, suggesting that better data collection could improve commercial success. He highlighted the potential of Division Two and Three clubs, which often maintain natural connections with their local communities. The Minister argued that strengthening these community bonds is essential for building a sustainable football industry.
