GHALCA president confirms failed bid to prevent Hohoe United exit
· TotalSports1Plus
GHALCA president John Ansah revealed that despite intervention efforts, Hohoe United could not be persuaded to remain in the Ghana Premier League.
John Ansah, the president of GHALCA, stated that both GHALCA and the GFA attempted to stop Hohoe United from withdrawing from the 2025/26 season. Despite direct communication with club leadership, the decision to leave was already finalized internally.
Hohoe United had expressed dissatisfaction regarding officiating, a three-match home ban, and financial penalties imposed by the GFA after a match against Vision FC. The club's withdrawal has since prompted calls for reforms to the league’s governance and disciplinary processes.
