Sports Minister Kofi Adams has summoned the GFA leadership to a meeting after the Black Stars' disappointing start to the 2027 AFCON qualifiers.
Sports and Recreation Minister Kofi Adams has called for a crisis meeting this Friday with the GFA leadership following the Black Stars' winless start in the 2027 AFCON qualifying Group C. The team lost to Ivory Coast and 4-2 to The Gambia at the Accra Sports Stadium, resulting in them sitting at the bottom of the group.
Head coach Carlos Queiroz departed on October 1, 2026, following these results. Ghana, which missed the 2025 tournament, faces high pressure to succeed in upcoming double-header matches against Somalia in Accra to keep their hopes for qualification alive.
