Former Bechem Coach Annese Takes Equatorial Guinea Role

Italian coach Vincenzo Alberto Annese has been appointed head coach of the Equatorial Guinea national team. Annese, who managed Bechem United during the 2017 season, replaces Juan Micha Obiang as the federation looks for a new direction.

Since his time in Ghana, Annese has managed national teams in Belize, Nepal, and Afghanistan, and served as technical director for Burkina Faso in 2025. He now takes over an Equatorial Guinea squad preparing for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, where they face DR Congo, Sierra Leone, and Zimbabwe in Group E. His immediate priority is to stabilize the team after a period of instability.
