Sports Minister Kofi Adams Criticizes League Publicity

· TotalSports1Plus

Sports Minister Kofi Adams has called for improved marketing and player promotion ahead of the 2026-27 Ghana Premier League season.

During the Ghana Football Association’s 32nd Ordinary Congress, Sports Minister Kofi Adams questioned the lack of visibility for the upcoming league season. Addressing the assembly at Prampram, he asked for more effort in promoting league stars to generate greater public interest, noting that the domestic game previously thrived on recognizable figures such as Charles Taylor and Ishmael Addo.

Mr. Adams urged clubs to utilize digital and media platforms more effectively to build hero status for current players. His comments highlighted concerns regarding the league's ability to attract crowds and commercial interest as the season approaches its September 5, 2026, start date.
