Mbaye on target for Senegal
2026-09-29
Ibrahim Mbaye and Nicolas Jackson combined to fire Senegal to victory on Tuesday. Jackson played in Mbaye to score the only goal of the game after 11 minutes to beat Ethiopia in Africa Cup of Nations qualifying. It leaves the Aston Villa duo and their country on four points from their opening two matches in Group J. In the UEFA Nations League, Johan Manzambi and John McGinn went head-to-head. Switzerland bested Scotland 3-0 at Hampden Park to take all three points, with Manzambi playing just over an hour. McGinn played the full 90 minutes for the hosts, who had a man sent off after 11 minutes. The Swiss are top of League B Group 1 and the Scots sit in third after two matches.
