Black Queens seek to finish the job against Mauritius at Essipong
2026-10-13
Ghana carry a 3-0 first-leg advantage into Tuesday’s Olympic qualifier, with kick-off at 15:00 Ghana time.

The Black Queens will look to finish off the job when they host Mauritius in the second leg of the second round of qualifiers for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games at the Essipong Stadium on Tuesday.
Ghana go into the game with a comfortable 3-0 advantage from the first leg played at the Côte d’Or National Sports Complex in Mauritius last Thursday.
The winner over two legs will progress to the third round as Ghana continue their push for a historic first qualification for the Women’s Olympic Football Tournament.
The Black Queens have won their last three matches across all competitions. Abigail Kim, Alice Kusi and Benedicte Simon were on target in the commanding first-leg victory.
Mauritius will hope to cause an upset away from home after a difficult first leg.
Head coach Kim Lars Björkegren’s team held their official Matchday-1 training session at Essipong on Monday evening. The coach is expected to maintain the core of the winning side but could also rotate to give opportunities to other players.
Fans can watch the match on Max TV and the Ghana Football Association YouTube page.
The match is scheduled for Tuesday, October 13, 2026, at 15:00 Ghana time at the Essipong Sports Stadium in Sekondi-Takoradi. Fans in the Western Region are expected to fill the stands to cheer the Queens on.
