UAE face England in U-23 mini-football World Championship opener

The UAE delegation has travelled to Croatia ahead of Tuesday’s opener against England in the October 11–17 tournament.
The UAE U-23 mini-football team will open its matches against its English counterpart on Tuesday in the World Championship scheduled in Croatia from October 11 to 17.
The national team delegation, consisting of 14 players in addition to the technical and administrative staff, left on Sunday morning for the Croatian island of Mali Lošinj via Dubai International Airport, following gradual stages of preparation for the scheduled matches.
Tournament format
The tournament matches will be held in a single-group system. Each team will play four matches, with the teams finishing first to fourth qualifying for the semi-finals.
Emirati international referee Ibrahim Al Marzouqi will also participate in officiating the tournament matches.
