Samuel Boadu disappointed as Aduana lose to Young Apostles

2026-10-12

Samuel Prempeh’s penalty settles the regional derby as Aduana remain sixth with 10 points.

Aduana FC head coach Samuel Boadu says he was not expecting his side to suffer defeat against Young Apostles in the Ghana Premier League on Sunday.

The two-time league champions suffered a narrow defeat in their Matchday Six fixture at the Wenchi Sports Stadium. Samuel Prempeh scored the decisive goal from the penalty spot on the brink of half-time to hand the Wenchi-based side all three points.

The victory provided a timely boost for Young Apostles, who went into the regional derby seeking to end a difficult run of three consecutive league defeats.

Speaking after the match, the former Hearts of Oak and Berekum Chelsea coach expressed disappointment and insisted his team must correct errors to secure positive results in subsequent games.

“I don’t want to talk about officiating. It is football. We have lost, and we have to rectify our mistakes going into the remaining games. I wasn’t expecting a defeat, but one mistake we made resulted in their goal.”

“It was really bad, but we will talk to ourselves and improve in subsequent games. I will congratulate my players despite the defeat. It was one unpardonable mistake that led to the loss,” he said.

Boadu declined to set a specific target for the campaign, explaining that it is too early in the season to do so.

“It is still early days to talk about our target. We will go home, work hard and aim to accumulate more points in our subsequent matches,” he added.

After six matches, Aduana FC sit sixth on the Ghana Premier League table with 10 points.
