Tillman nets for USA
On a good day for Leverkusen's internationals, Malik Tillman scored the third and final goal for the US Men's National Team against Mexico. The record for the youngest-ever US goalscorer, set by Dortmund's Mathis Albert just last week, was broken again by Cavan Sullivan.

Kane on target as England hammer Croatia
Bayern Munich's star striker Harry Kane once again led England out as captain, as Thomas Tuchel's Three Lions thrashed Croatia 7-0 on the road in the UEFA Nations League. Kane himself opened the scoring inside eight minutes before adding another goal and an assist in the second half. Bayer Leverkusen defender Jarell Quansah also played the full 90 minutes, helping his side to a clean sheet and even providing an assist via a sumptuous cross for England's third.

Hložek and Czechia defeated
Hoffenheim's Adam Hložek (r.) teed up compatriot Jiří Sláma to score for Czechia against world champions Spain in Oviedo, but it was nothing more than a consolation in a 3-1 defeat in Nations League Group A3.

3 October: Jóhannesson stars as Iceland down Bulgaria
Cologne midfielder Ísak Jóhannesson spent the entirety of the 90 minutes at the heart of Iceland's midfield, as the Scandinavians cruised past Bulgaria 3-0 in the Nations League. Hertha man Jón Dagur Thorsteinsson also started, but was withdrawn after 62 minutes.

Bundesliga duo hold firm
Leipzig's Willi Orbán and Union's András Schäfer both played the full 90 minutes as Hungary kept a clean sheet in a narrow 1-0 win over Georgia in their League B Group 2 UEFA Nations League encounter.

Olise does it again!
Another day, another outrageous moment of brilliance from Michael Olise. With the game goalless between France and Italy on UEFA Nations League Matchday 3, up stepped the Bayern winger to curl a vicious free-kick in off the crossbar to put Les Bleus in front. The game ultimately ended 1-1, with Olise's compatriot and Bayern team-mate Dayot Upamecano sent off late on.

Džeko bows out from the international stage
Edin Džeko started for Bosnia and Herzegovina in their Nations League Group B4 assignment against Sweden in Zenica in what was his final game for his country. The Schalke forward thought he had opened the scoring, only for VAR to disallow the goal as the ball had gone out of play in the build-up. The 40-year-old was visibly emotional as he was substituted off in the 63rd minute of the 1-1 draw, bringing the curtain down on his time with the national team.

Serhou Guirassy scored the only goal of the game as Guinea edged past Kenya in the second qualification round for the Africa Cup of Nations with a 1-0 win.

Japanese quintet held by Ecuador

Austria's Bundesliga contingent held by Ireland
Austria's 2-2 draw with the Republic of Ireland saw 10 Bundesliga representatives take to the field for them. Six of those were starters, including: Stefan Posch, Patrick Wimmer, Carney Chukwuemeka, Philipp Lienhart, Phillipp Mwene and Nicolas Seiwald. Konrad Laimer, Maximilian Wöber, Michael Gregoritsch and Alexander Prass all appeared off the bench.

Ryerson suffers fresh injury worries
Dortmund's Julian Ryerson was taken off just 17 minutes into Norway's fixture with Wales, which ended in a 2-1 defeat for his side. Leipzig's Antonio Nusa and Ørjan Nyland, and Hamburg's David Møller Wolfe also all featured for Norway.

Kevin Diks captained Indonesia to a 9-2 win over Bangladesh to see his country advance into the final of the inaugural FIFA ASEAN Cup final, and he even got himself on the scoresheet in their huge win.

Dortmund duo star in entertaining draw
Konstantinos Karetsas (pictured, l.) and Joey Veerman both started as Greece and the Netherlands played out a 2-2 draw in Thessaloniki. Karetsas played 83 minutes while Veerman completed the full 90 and picked up an assist.

1 October: First cap for Fernández
Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Ezequiel Fernández came on as a substitute for Argentina in the 74th minute of their 4-0 win over Bolivia to earn his first full international cap.

Okon victorious again
Hannover defender Ime Okon played from start to finish as South Africa eased to a 5-0 win against Eritrea in AFCON qualifying Group D, leaving them top of the section with six points from two games.

Metcalfe nets against Brazil
St. Pauli midfielder Connor Metcalfe put Australia 2-1 up against Brazil with a composed finished from the edge of the penalty area. Brazil went on to win the friendly in Brisbane 4-2, however.

Moore makes it two in two
Mikey Moore, a 19-year-old attacking talent on loan to Cologne from Tottenham, scored on both of his first two appearances for England U20 during the international break - in a 3-1 win over Italy and then a 2-1 success against France on Tuesday. Next up for England U20 are Germany U20 on Saturday.

30 September: Amazing Albert
Borussia Dortmund's 17-year-old American winger became the youngest goalscorer in US Men's National Team history with a stoppage time goal in a 4-2 friendly win over Chile in St Louis.

Switzerland in form
Die Nati consolidated top spot in Nations League Group B1 with six points from a possible six thanks to a 3-0 success over Scotland in Glasgow. Kane strikes again
Harry Kane was on target once more as England returned to winning ways in Prague with a 2-0 win against Czechia. The Bayern forward struck in the 69th minute, and was substituted off one minute later. Hoffenheim duo Adam Hložek and Robin Hranáč both started for the hosts, who have lost both of their Nations League Group A3 games so far.

Morocco victorious
Bayern’s Ismael Saibari (pictured), Stuttgart’s Bilal El Khannouss and Hamburg’s Zakaria El Ouahdi all started for Morocco in Africa Cup of Nations qualifying against Lesotho. The 2-0 win leaves the Atlas Lions top of Group A with a maximum six points from two games.

29 September: Ghana stunned by Gambia
Cologne’s Gideon Mensah (pictured) and Wolfsburg’s Jonas Adjetey both started in defence for Ghana at the Ohene Djan Stadium in Accra. However, even though the Black Stars were 2-0 up after 33 minutes, they ultimately slipped to a 4-2 defeat that leaves them bottom of AFCON qualifying Group C after two games.

A four-strong Bundesliga contingent consisting of Keisuke Gotō (Freiburg, pictured), Satoshi Tanaka (Schalke), Ritsu Dōan (Eintracht Frankfurt), and Hiroki Ito (Bayern Munich) all featured for Japan as the Samurai Blues edged past a resilient Venezuela outfit 2-1 in a friendly encounter.

Svensson stars as Sweden down Poland
Borussia Dortmund's Daniel Svensson (pictured) played the full 90 minutes as Sweden made it two wins from two in their Nations League campaign with a 3-1 victory over Poland. Bosnia brilliant in Romania
Schalke defender Nikola Katić played the full 90 minutes for Bosnia and Herzegovina as they downed Romania 4-2 on the road. Stuttgart's Ermedin Demirović also made an appearance from off the bench, whilst former Borussia Mönchengladbach forward Haris Tabaković and former Kiel midfielder Armin Gigović got themselves on the scoresheet.

28 September: Turkish Bundesliga duo suffer defeat to Italy
Both Ozan Kabak of Hoffenheim and Can Uzun of Eintracht Frankfurt started in Türkiye's Nations League meeting with Italy at home, which the hosts lost comprehensively 4-1 to their Italian visitors.

Three Bundesliga stars were in action for Norway in their 2-1 defeat by Portugal in Oslo: Ørjan Nyland and Antonio Nusa (both RB Leipzig), as well as Dortmund's Julian Ryerson. It was a night to forget for Nyland, whose error led to Gonçalo Ramos' winner, and Ryerson, who had to come off injured in the second half.

Adamu and Chukwuemeka find net for Austria
Schalke's Junior Adamu and Dortmund's Carney Chukwuemeka, who came off the bench in the 58th minute, scored the second and third goals of Austria's 3-1 win over Kosovo at the Ernst-Happel-Stadion in Vienna. Ibrahimović on target for Germany U21s
Arijon Ibrahimović came off the bench to score his first Germany U21 goal in Saturday’s 4-0 win over Latvia. The Augsburg youngster capped a dominant display in Riga, after Paris Brunner’s debut double and a Nicolò Tresoldi goal had put the visitors firmly in control. Antonio Di Salvo’s side remain top of their European Championship qualifying group ahead of Wednesday’s trip to Malta.

27 September: Tillman from the spot
Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Malik Tillman converted a second-half spot-kick for the USMNT in their 4-1 friendly victory over Peru. Incidentally, the penalty was won by 17-year-old Borussia Dortmund starlet Mathis Albert, who was introduced off the bench in the 61st minute to make his senior debut for the USA national team.

Bittersweet night for Kane
Harry Kane netted his seventh goal of the season in England’s 3-2 defeat against Spain at Wembley on Saturday evening. The 33-year-old could have scored another but he slipped while taking a penalty on the hour-mark with England leading at 2-1, crashing his effort off the crossbar. Leverkusen's Jarell Quansah played the full 90 minutes for the Three Lions at right-back.

25 September: Wirtz and Burkardt replace injured stars
Bayern Munich playmaker Jamal Musiala and former Bayer Leverkusen attacker Kai Havertz sustained injuries ahead of and during Germany's UEFA Nations League clash against the Netherlands. As a result, Eintracht Frankfurt striker Jonathan Burkardt and Liverpool's Florian Wirtz have been drafted into Jürgen Klopp's squad for the clash with Greece on Sunday.

Hoffenheim trio celebrate
Hoffenheim’s Albian Hajdari and Leon Avdullahu started as Kosovo beat the Republic of Ireland 1-0 in Pristina. Nusa notches assist in Norway win
RB Leipzig's Antonio Nusa turned provider for ex-Dortmund striker Erling Haaland as Norway went on to beat Denmark 3-2. However, the night wasn't as successful for Hamburg's David Møller Wolfe, who was sent off in stoppage time for a second bookable offence.

Borussia Dortmund's Konstantinos Karetsas played 74 minutes as Germany's other two Nations League opponents faced off. Although Serbia had taken the lead in Belgrade, Greece fought back to win the game at the death.

24 September: Klopp's Germany draw with the Netherlands
A host of Bundesliga stars were in action as Germany drew 1-1 with the Netherlands in Klopp's first game as head coach, including goalscorer Felix Nmecha. Klopp also oversaw three Germany debuts, including Freiburg's Philipp Treu and Yannik Engelhardt and Eintracht Frankfurt's Younes Ebnoutalib. Unfortunately, Bayern's Jamal Musiala withdrew from the starting XI shortly before kick-off with an injury. Borussia Dortmund's Joey Veerman came off the bench to represent the Dutch.

Dortmund are two points clear of defending champions Bayern at the top of the Bundesliga table, after winning their first four league games of 2026/27. Maximilian Beier scored the winner at Stuttgart this past weekend, reminding Klopp that he could still have a role to play for the national team after missing out on the squad.

Jürgen Klopp has selected two different squads for his first four fixtures in charge of Germany against the Netherlands, Greece and Serbia in the UEFA Nations League. Younes Ebnoutalib of Eintracht Frankfurt and Elversberg's Felix Keidel are among 16 uncapped players included in the 44-man squad.
