Spectacular September for Lamine Yamal

Lamine Yamal is flying. The Barça No.10 has just completed an extraordinary September, producing nine goals and seven assists for club and country. Sixteen direct goal contributions in a single month are his highest tally yet, and he has done it relentlessly, delivering in every one of his five appearances for Barça before carrying that form straight onto the international stage with Spain.

Six goals and six assists for Barça

His September in blaugrana began with a brace away to Valencia (0-5), followed by a goal and two assists against Feyenoord (5-1). He struck twice more at Levante (2-4), then contributed a goal and two assists against Racing Santander (7-2), before rounding off the month with another two assists against Sevilla (1-3).

That makes six goals and six assists in five games for Barça. At least two goal contributions in every match!

Same magic for Spain

And he didn't stop there. Lamine also led the way for Spain against England (2-3) and Croatia (4-1). At Wembley, he opened the scoring after just two minutes, while in Seville on Tuesday he struck early again before adding an assist and a second goal against a Croatia side featuring Barça team-mate Livaković.

September ends as the most productive month of Lamine Yamal's career in terms of goals and assists. Now comes October, the month when the Ballon d'Or will be awarded.

Could another unforgettable month be in store for the Barça star?
