Lotte: “It’s up to us to pull ourselves out of it”

Lotte Wubben-Moy has shared her post-match reaction following Sunday’s disappointing 4-2 defeat away to Manchester City in the Women’s Super League.

Our centre-back was naturally upset after we twice failed to protect a lead at Etihad Stadium.

“I think anything I say, the fans don’t want to hear, you know,” she said. “They were loud and proud for us today. We fought for ourselves, we fought for them, we fought for everyone.

“It’s extremely disappointing that I’m stood here now with the result that we’ve got.

“It’s a game of fine margins, as it always is against City. I think if you zoom out of this fixture, this result alone, it’s thrown up in the air.

“But where we are at the moment, the bigger picture, it’s an unprecedented position for us to be in, where we are in the table. And heck, it’s up to us to pull ourselves out of it, as I know we will.”

Following a difficult run of results, Lotte said what our focus will be across the upcoming international break.

“Reset and come in with new energy,” she said. “We fought for ourselves today. There was a lot put out there, and it takes a toll. But I know without a doubt that we’ll be back fighting and doing it for the fans and ourselves, as always.”
