Kai Havertz takes on Ask Me Anything

The German striker is the latest Gunner to face questions from our supporters in a Reddit AMA
Kai Havertz enjoyed a flying start to the season, scoring in three of his first four competitive games, and now the German striker has taken a seat in our Reddit hot seat to answer questions from supporters in our latest Ask Me Anything.
Goals against Manchester City in the Community Shield were followed up by strikes against Coventry City and Chelsea for Kai, putting him level with captain Martin Odegaard, who scored in the same three matches, as our top scorer so far this season.
Our no.29 picked up where he left off last season, having scored in his final two starts of the campaign to beat Burnley with what proved to be the title-winning goal, before giving us the lead in the Champions League final two weeks later.
Although they happened to be so close together, Kai feels these were his favourite goals in an Arsenal shirt.
"The Champions League final, even though we lost the game, I feel like I never had a feeling like this before in my life," Kai said. The German scored with our first shot of the game to put us in front against Paris Saint-Germain just six minutes into the match.
"The emotional feeling after I scored the goal, after the celebration, the goosebumps, it was just incredible. In that minute, I think that was the best I've ever felt in my life on a football pitch, so I think that was my favourite one.
"My second favourite is definitely the one against Burnley, when we won the Premier League, the last goal of the season before we won it. These two definitely are always going to be in my heart."
Some eagle-eyed supporters noticed that when Kai scored these goals, and in fact any others in his Arsenal career, he has a long-sleeved shirt on.
Even at this Summer's World Cup, with temperatures upwards of 40°C, he stuck with it while playing for Germany.
"It's a superstition," Kai confirmed, "I think it's the thing I just feel most comfortable with on the pitch, I don't know why, but I can't look down and see my body and see my arm without a shirt.
"It just developed like this, and people were laughing at me when I turned up in the World Cup or in the training camp in Singapore, 45°C with a long sleeve in training or in the game.
"But that's how I like it, and my head just always tells me to wear long sleeves, so I can't wear short sleeves anymore."
As well as discussing his goals [and wardrobe] on the pitch, the German was asked about some of his relationships off the pitch as well.
Since joining the club in 2023, Kai has struck up a close friendship with Ben White, who he regards as one of the best full-backs he's ever played with.
"I think for myself, he's obviously a close friend of mine, and from the first minute I arrived, we were close friends. Our wives are close friends, so I spend a lot of time with him.
"Personally, he's definitely up there, and also football-wise I feel like he's shown so many times how good he is, how much the team needs him, how good he is defensively, offensively, and I think we all see it every week, the way he plays, the way he performs at the highest level."
Having struck up a good relationship with Ben after signing, Kai offered the same welcoming to Viktor Gyokeres when he joined from Sporting CP last summer.
The pair have formed a close friendship off the pitch, as well as an often-deadly combination on the pitch.
"He's just a top guy, funny guy," Kai said on our no.14, "he's got top banter.
"I think I'm quite funny as well, and it just clicked from the first minute, and yeah, we're just having fun together on the pitch and off the pitch.
"I think he's a top guy and that's why it's easy to spend good time with him."
