Gunners trio called up to Lionesses

Three members of our women’s team have been called up to the Lionesses squad for the upcoming international break.

Alessia Russo, Georgia Stanway and Leah Williamson have all been selected by Sarina Weigman ahead of matches against Greece.

England will travel to Greece for a 5.30pm kick-off on Friday, October 9, before hosting them at Wembley Stadium for a 7.30pm kick-off on Tuesday, October 13.

The two matches are part of the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup UEFA qualifiers play-offs, which England have to go through after finishing second in Group C last season.

Should England knock Greece out over the two legs, they will then take on the winner of Slovakia v Ukraine in the next round of play-offs across November and December.
