Kim Little has shared her post-match reaction following our 1-0 defeat away to Chelsea in the Women’s Super League on Sunday.

“Obviously, disappointed to not get a result today and drop points,” she said. “I thought we made a really good, strong start to the game in the first-half but ultimately when you play against a great team, they’re going to find an opportunity.

“We just let that slip in the first-half. Yeah, just disappointment to not pick up the points. We need to refocus, take the positives but also look at what we can improve on for our next game.”

Asked how we can get back to winning ways, our captain continued: “I think, you look at it with perspective, within context, you can sometimes come away from games where you lose or drop points and see it as the worst thing ever but there was lots of good things to take from the match and we need to focus on them as well as the things we can get better.

“Yeah, the small details. We create a lot of chances and we just need to finish them as a team and as a collective and do better, and I know we can do that.

“Obviously Chelsea are and have been one of the best teams in the country for a very long time. They’re a very tough opponent. So, we always know that when we come here it’s going to be a great game, really intense, highly competitive game and it was.”

Next up, we travel to Paris and Manchester for two big games in the UEFA Women’s Champions League and WSL next week.

“Obviously our focus turns to Champions League, we got three points last week so we need to push on and get the points in that league phase of the Champions League to put us in a good place, and we’ll push for that on Wednesday,” Kim added.

“And then obviously, going to play Manchester City on Sunday before the international break, it’s a must-win for us, so we’ll do all we can to get that win.”
