2026-09-22 · Stephen Wright

Women's Champions League football is back as we host Danish side HB Koge at Meadow Park on Tuesday (8pm UK)

UEFA Women’s Champions League football is back in Borehamwood, where we host Danish side HB Koge at Meadow Park on Tuesday (8pm UK).

We’re hoping to return to winning ways following back-to-back Women’s Super League draws against Crystal Palace and Manchester United.

Tickets remain available for supporters wishing to attend the game as we begin on the road to May’s final in Warsaw, Poland.

TOP OF THE TREE

It’s been an impressive start to the season from Koge, who sit five points clear at the top of Denmark’s Elitedivisionen with seven wins and just one defeat from their opening eight matches, in which they have scored 24 goals and conceded eight.

Last time out, Koge put four past Midtjylland without reply on Saturday, but they were on the wrong end of a topsy-turvy 6-4 home defeat to Nordsaelland two weeks prior.

They previously reached the old format of the Champions League group stage in 2021/22, going on to lose 5-1 and 3-0 to us that season, and completed their first Danish domestic double in 2025/26.

WHAT THE MANAGERS SAY

Slegers: “We've looked at what we anticipate the game will look like tomorrow and our learnings from the United game. How can we set up our chances? How do we arrive in the box? Those things. That's what we've been speaking about mainly.

"We're all disappointed with the four points lost. What we do know is that we are very, very close. We all believe that when it clicks, it clicks. That doesn't take away the four points that we lost. But that's what we need to focus on moving forward."

Morch: “We are fully aware that there is no squad anywhere in the world with more talent than Arsenal's. But we feel we have a good standard, and we look forward to seeing how we can make our game work. We will try to make parts of the match look like our domestic games. What matters most is how we play.

"We are well aware that Arsenal haven't had the best luck in their first three matches of the season, and that they will do all they can to take that out on us. We have a good team. We have talented players. And we need to go out and show that. For some, it will be a miracle if we can pull off [a win], but that is what we have to try and do."

TEAM NEWS

Lotte Wubben-Moy is still being assessed after being on the bench for the weekend's game against Manchester United, so there will be a late call made on her availability. Otherwise, Daphne van Domselaar, Katie Reid and Michelle Agyemang remain our absentees.

FACTS AND STATS

English sides are unbeaten in their last 10 Women’s Champions League games against clubs from Denmark (W7 D3), since our 5-1 defeat to Fortuna Hjorring in the 2002/03 semi-final.

We have lost our opening game in each of the last two Champions League seasons: 5-2 to Bayern Munich in 2024/25 and 2-1 to Lyon in 2025/26. However, we reached at least the semi-finals in both campaigns.

Caitlin Foord has scored in both of her Champions League meetings with Koge – in fact, they were her first goals in the competition. Indeed, only against Lyon has she scored more times in the Champions League (three goals).

REF WATCH

Greek official Eleni Antoniou has been appointed to take charge of Tuesday’s fixture, assisted by Zoi Papadopoulou and Vasilia Tsiklitari, with Eirini Pingiou the fourth official.

VAR will be in use for this game.

LAST TIME WE MET

Goals from Vivianne Miedema, Lotte Wubben-Moy and Caitlin Foord saw us earn a comfortable win over Koge back in November 2021 at Meadow Park.

We would go on to finish second in the group, while Koge came bottom after losing all six matches against us, Hoffenheim and Barcelona.
