The WSL unbeaten record we’re looking to set against United

2026-09-17 · Stephen Wright

We’re now looking to set a new record of 20 matches unbeaten with Saturday’s visit of Manchester United at Emirates Stadium.

Our draw at home to Crystal Palace saw us match our longest unbeaten run in the WSL of 19 matches, meaning we can break our longest unbeaten run this Saturday against Manchester United.

Our current side have emulated the feats of those who remained unbeaten in games between August 2011 and October 2012, while we also have the opportunity to extend our 20-game unbeaten home run in the competition against the Red Devils, which is also a club record.

Our current WSL unbeaten run began back in October 2025 with a 1-0 win at home to Brighton & Hove Albion, following a 3-2 defeat away to Manchester City. Since then, we’ve only drawn with Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United, Brighton and Crystal Palace.

Our best spell within that run was from January 24 to April 29, when we won six games in a row, including big victories over Chelsea and Man City, as well as the thrashings of West Ham United, Spurs and Leicester City.

We also managed two 18-game unbeaten runs in 2021 and 2022, and one 14-game unbeaten run in 2013/14.

Chelsea and Manchester City are the only two teams ever to have achieved longer unbeaten runs than us, with Chelsea reaching 34 matches without defeat between 2024 and 2025.
