David Horseman on our 2-1 win over Napoli and Munoz's incredible winning goal

David Horseman described Luis Munoz's winner against Napoli as world class, as we picked up a 2-1 victory in our UEFA Youth League opener.

Munoz, aged 14 years and 263 days old, became the second-youngest scorer in Youth League history, just three days older than record holder Max Dowman, when he pinged his effort into the top corner in stoppage time.

After the match, a delighted Horseman reflected on the incredible effort: "The finish is just world class.

"On any stage, that's a goal that's fit to win any game. But we know that we're not just giving people token games. We brought a squad that we thought could win the game, and he was part of it. He come on and had the decisive moment.

"But it is a world class goal, and I don't use that word lightly; that's for sure."

Andre Harriman-Annous pounced to give us the lead on a scorching hot day in Naples, pressing well to force the error from the Napoli backline, delighting our head coach.

"While the angles weren't always quite right, we always had intent with our press and they did persist with it. Even when you can see they've got nothing left in their legs, they're still trying to do it. They're a really good group of kids who want to learn."

There were plenty of chances in the match, with Napoli having 28 shots to our 14. That meant goalkeeper Jack Porter had a busy afternoon at the Giuseppe Piccolo.

Assessing the win, David said: "It was a very tough game and a game where, if we're honest, we rode our luck at times. Jack made some brilliant saves.

"We had a few good spells in the game, but not as much as we would like. We didn't feel in control enough. But we have really good players we forced the mistake through the high press.

"Then one moment of magic from another ridiculously young player, which won the game. I've only been here a year, but over the last five years, we've had 50 of those games and lost.

"This competition is about trying to win and develop within the winning part of it. We've made a good start. We've got a really tough run of games, so we needed to get off to a quick start.

"This sets us up for the Lille game after the international break to hopefully really have a go at getting through the group stage this year."
