Our young Gunner looks back on his goal and the spirited response at Blackburn

Saurap Sampang reflected on our young Gunners' 3-3 draw with Blackburn Rovers, after his second-half goal helped spark a comeback in the U18 Premier League Cup opener.
Our under-18s found themselves 3-1 down at the break after taking an early lead through Jayden Oba. Sampang's strike after the interval ignited a fightback, before Mikael Bonaventue Yetna's stoppage-time equaliser secured a point.
The midfielder was pleased with the way we implemented our work from the training ground and maintained our approach throughout the contest.
"I think it was good. We've worked on a few things in training and had a system throughout the game.
"We showed courage and found rhythm to keep on attacking and attacking. We kept up the pressure and got our reward."
Sampang was pleased to get on the scoresheet after finishing off a slick move involving Hakeem Abubakar, while his versatility means he is happy to contribute wherever he is deployed.
"It was good for me to get the goal from Hakeem's run, which we have worked on. I ended up getting my shot off and I was pleased with my finish.
"I don't mind where I play, as long as I'm affecting the game and helping the team. I can definitely make an impact from centre-midfield and right-back."
Despite the late comeback, Sampang admitted there was some disappointment at not taking all three points, but was pleased to see the team rewarded for their efforts. He is now focused on continuing his development and pushing for opportunities within the academy system.
"Yeah, it's a special feeling, we're all happy but also a bit disappointed as we could have won the game, but obviously pleased with the point.
"I just want to keep trying to progress, grow and push for the under-21s this season."
