Six Gunners hoping for success at tonight's PFA Awards

David Raya, Gabriel and Declan Rice are on the Players' Player of the Year shortlist, while Alessia Russo is up for the women's award

Tonight sees one of the most prestigious off-the-pitch nights in the football calendar when the great and good of the game get dressed up and head to the PFA Awards, hoping to walk away with some individual accolades.

The prizes will be dished out for the 53rd time in the awards' history in Manchester, with all winners chosen by votes from their fellow professionals, and a strong Arsenal influence across the biggest prizes up for grabs.

David Raya, Gabriel and Declan Rice have all made the six-man shortlist for the men's Players' Player of the Year award, alongside Manchester City pair Rayan Cherki and Erling Haaland, as well as Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes.

All three Gunners made seismic contributions to our first league title since 2004, as we conceded a league-low 27 Premier League goals, eight fewer than any other side.

In the women's category, Alessia Russo is our sole nominee as she looks to follow in the footsteps of last season's recipient, Mariona Caldentey and add her name to the award's roll of honour.

2025/26 season was her best ever in front of goal, scoring 24 goals in 40 matches in all competitions, which included an unforgettable hat-trick in March’s north London derby, which saw us beat Tottenham Hotspur 5-2 at Emirates Stadium.

The other five players in the running for that award are Bunny Shaw (Manchester City), Jess Park (Manchester United), Kirsty Hanson (Aston Villa), Lauren James (Chelsea), and Yui Hasegawa (Manchester City).

At just 16, Max Dowman's record-smashing contributions have earned him a nomination for the men's Young Player of the Month award. Max is the youngest player to start a match, score a goal or win the title in the Premier League era, and joins five other standout young players in Manchester City duo Nico O'Reilly and Rayan Cherki, Kobbie Mainoo of Manchester United,  Liverpool's Rio Ngumoha and Eli Junior Kroupi, who scored for Bournemouth against Manchester City in the 1-1 draw which ultimately secured us the league title.

Olivia Smith meanwhile is hoping to scoop the Women's Young Player of the Year award for the second season in a row, having done so in 2025 following her final season at Liverpool. In total, she scored 10 goals across 38 matches in all competitions for us in 2025/26, and is vying for the honour against Alyssa Thompson (Chelsea), Freya Godfrey (London City Lionesses), Laura Blindkilde Brown (Manchester City), Toko Koga (Tottenham Hotspur), and Veerle Buurman (Chelsea).

As well as those four prizes, we should also see good representation in the PFA Team of the Year categories when those are announced at the ceremony.
