Phoenix Blayney joins Arsenal

We have reached an agreement for Northern Ireland under-17 international Phoenix Blayney from Larne FC as part of our 2027/28 scholar intake.

The player has also signed a pre-contract agreement that will lead to him signing professional terms with us.

A towering goalkeeper from Belfast, Phoenix will leave his home country for the first time in his career to join us in north London after a successful trial period.

Despite being just 15 years old, the talented shot-stopper has already represented his country in their UEFA Euro Under-17 qualification campaign, making five appearances as Northern Ireland advanced to the elite qualifying round; Phoenix has also appeared in three under-17 friendlies for his country.

At club level, Phoenix has competed in several competitions with Larne's under-16s and under-18s sides, and was named on the bench for a UEFA Youth League game last season.

Everyone at Arsenal welcomes Phoenix to the club and looks forward to supporting him with his continued development.

The transfer is subject to the completion of regulatory processes.
