Josh Tahou admits he was disappointed after our under-18s lost 3-1 to Ipswich Town in the Premier League South.

The youngster came off the bench to provide an assist for Emerson Nwaneri late on as we suffered our first league defeat of 2026/27.

Speaking after the game, the versatile defender said he was disappointed that we couldn't start our home campaign with a victory.

"I feel like, really disappointing. It was the first game at home. Really wanted to make a statement to the league that we're Arsenal, we're a big team but it was really unfortunate.

"I feel like it's one of those ones where you just forget it, go on to the next game, show what we can do."

Josh was a second half substitute, making return to action after being on the sidelines.

An assist on return is a strong start, but the youngster is hoping to give more throughout the season.

"I feel like, first and foremost, I'm so happy to be back from injury, it’s been a long time," he said.

"I feel like off the bench, good to get the assist but I still think there's levels to my game to improve always. I feel like it's obviously been hard but the coaches just helped me a lot, keeping me strong, giving me a plan so I know how to follow it."

Our under-18s are back in action in midweek, taking Blackburn Rovers away from home on Tuesday, August 25 at 1pm.
