U18s preview: Arsenal v Ipswich

2026-08-21 · Connor Booth

Our under-18s take on the Tractor Boys in their first home game of the 2026/27 season

Our under-18s face Ipswich Town on Saturday afternoon (12pm, UK) in our first U18s Premier League home game of the season, looking to build on last weekend's draw at West Bromwich Albion.

We battled to a goalless draw with the Baggies in our opening game of the season, and will be looking to secure our first win of the new campaign when we take on the Tractor Boys at the Sobha Realty Training Centre.

Goalkeeper Jack Talbot produced a fantastic display, making a series of excellent saves in the second half to preserve the clean sheet and secure a point on the opening weekend.

THE OPPOSITION

Ipswich competed in the U18s Premier League for the first time last season, finishing bottom with six wins and 20 points from their 28 league games.

The Tractor Boys got off to a tough start in 2026/27 last weekend, losing 5-2 at home Fulham despite taking an early lead.

Last season's meetings between ourselves and Town were both won by the home side, with Ipswich holding on for a 1-0 win in March after we'd won the contest in north London 4-2 in September.

HOW TO FOLLOW

The action gets underway from 12pm (UK) on Saturday afternoon, with live updates available on our Academy X account from pre-match through to the full-time whistle.
