U21s preview: Arsenal v Everton

2026-02-06 · Tom Keens

Our under-21s aim to make it three wins on the bounce when they host Everton in the Premier League 2 on Friday

Our under-21s will look to extend their winning run in the Premier League 2 when Everton visit on Friday, January 6.

The match will take place at Mangata Developments Stadium, with kick-off scheduled for 7pm (UK time).

Max Porter's side are back in form of late after a strong finish to January, having tabled consecutive clean sheets via a 1-0 win over Burnley before an emphatic 4-0 victory at Leeds last weekend.

Goals from Theo Julienne and hat-trick hero Demiane Agustien earned our young Gunners their biggest triumph of the campaign so far and moved us into the PL2 play-off spots, with a game in hand on several teams.

the opposition

The Toffees sit a place above our under-21s in the league table, both on 18 points but separated by a single goal, with them having played a game extra. They visit in fine form themselves, with four wins from their last five domestic games, including victories over Chelsea, West Bromwich Albion, Manchester City, and most recently a 2-0 victory against Tottenham Hotspur in north London.

Paul Tait's side also qualified for the knock-out stages of the Premier League International Cup after beating RB Leipzig 5-1, and could even top Group A if Monaco fail to win their final match of the stage.

In other cup competitions, Everton failed to progress beyond both the group stages of the Vertu Trophy and the National League Cup.

We last faced the Merseyside outfit on the road in March 2025, when Nathan Butler-Oyedeji netted twice to earn the points in a 2-1 win at Haig Avenue.
